The current job brings me greater satisfaction

Joe Manson, at the age of 65, started his trucking profession during 1996 after he moved to Sydney from Western Australia because of his romantic relationship. Joe worked in menswear until his life changed after he met his future wife during his business travels to Sydney. The couple have now been married for 36 years.

Joe began his career by driving an Isuzu rigid truck for local deliveries before he moved up to drive larger trucks which he used for interstate routes — and he has not stopped working in that field since then. Joe started working at Truck Moves Australia after he spent several years doing general freight operations between the cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth.

“Truck Moves Australia is the longest company I’ve ever worked for,” Joe said. “The staff and management are fantastic, and there’s a lot more freedom in this role.”

Joe uses his present job to drive trucks, which he picks up from auctions, dealerships, and private customers throughout Australia.

“Every day brings a unique experience,” he said. “Driving the new trucks is a pleasure — they’re comfortable, modern and easy to handle.”

Joe describes long-distance travel as his personal vacation because he enjoys various landscapes and he can choose his own travel times.

“As long as the customer is happy and the truck arrives on time and in great condition, there’s no pressure,” Joe said. “It’s an excellent job — the best job I’ve ever had.”
